fuckn penguin stole 23:41 10/Sep/08

A few financial sites have stated as a result of globe's poor performance some PSC stores will be shutdown.
What's the story?

working at the psc warehouse now.

most of the stores running now will not be shutting down.

globe def has some secrets up thier sleeve.

poopy-pants 00:19 11/Sep/08

meh...

should shut them all down except the city store.

Kunt 00:43 11/Sep/08

yeah and put more skaters out of work .. sick

Yeah I heard PSC is finished and that's a real shame for Australian skateboarding. PSC has been a long standing supporter of Aussie skaters for a long time and we will all be sad to see it go.
I'm not sure if Globe buying out PSC is such a good thing?
Globe have a tendency to 'sell out'.

it just goes to show how tough things are at the moment... it must cost them a fortune to have that store in the melb city. i think if your not part of a major chain of stores then its only time that you will have to shut down, we can blame greedy bastards who want it all to themselfs for that!!!

Blame the media

you sound like the ford factory in flynt is closing down. it sucks that skaters might loss jobs but for every PSC that closes down there is an opportunity for another independent skate shop to open.

yoshi 01:56 11/Sep/08

With the way things are going I would suggest that skaters are buying more product over the internet rather than going to their local skateshop, which in turn will force the skate shops to close their doors. If anyone is thinking about opening a skate shop. think twice and do some really really good research first.

i'd go to a skate shop...but u gotta understand the closest one to me is 2 hrs away...fuel aint cheap

imgne 02:06 11/Sep/08

skate shops could think about opening online stores too!?

tangent 02:41 11/Sep/08

yeah, everyone's talking about how skate's going into a recession soon.. but i think if you're a shop with good intentions people will see that.. especially skaters. if you're doing things for the right reasons, try to support skaters and the industry as much as you can, and have a great atmosphere for people with no 'skate political' bullshit you should be able to survive... when a store loses the love for skate people can tell and business suffers... things should get interesting very soon in melbs... :D
