Take a few homies, The city rats get pretty hectic after about 9, when the ice, and chroming is too much for the little heads.
ive worked the night sessions since they started prettymuch for over a yr now and their hasnt been one incident at the park yet whilst the lights are on.... the whole muggings and fights thing is just not true...just stay away after dark when the lights are off...simple
hate to burst peoples bubbles, but about a year ago rivers had lights on at night and these gangs of kids would come out of nowhere at night time with weapons and try to start fights. about 3 weekends in a row i was chased away from the park by these kids. i stopping going there at night cause i felt it was no longer safe.
but then again, that's a year ago. maybe it is different these days

Pacman - About a year ago sounds right, KK + all the flinders rats like beau and adzy and shit.
now its mellowed down a fair bit.
Still you have to get from the skatepark to a station safely, Skatepark maybe safe but id be watching my back at flinders around 10pm on a friday night, Your better going to melbourne central and sticking with the crowd.
Stay away from the underpass, And stay away from HJ's at night.
If you have ciggy's and there looks like there is 1 rat asking you for a ciggy (considering he looks young and hangs with a group) give him a fucking ciggy, it will save your ass 9/10 times they have there mates jsut round the corner.
