So really what were trying to say is that the louder the voice the more newi council is likely to listen there is more than one skateshop surviving in newi which leads me to believe there are a shit load of skaters and or crew who are down for skateboarding in newi get em together and get something happening oh thats right there are some dates at the top of this thread that give you a time and a place!

Poor bastard -apparently last time he tried he nearly completely stuffed his back again.
Leigh, personally i would love to go. but this stuff has been goin on for years/decades. All we get is shit parks.
Your right, the numbers of skateboarders in the area are extremely high considering the lack of a descent park.
The council is very aware of this. I have sent numerous emails in the past and i know others who have as well.
But nothing ever happens.
Lake macquarie has a larger area, both physical and population size. Which makes it harder for them to designate one area with a descent size facility. This is the main reason why they have been building shit little parks around the place (e.g cardiff, holmesville, bolto)
But they have given the go ahead with swansea park which is of descent size/quality.
But newcastle council? well what have they done for skateboarding in the last 10 years? put a pre fab quarter set up at stockton and built mayf park?
Newcastle council have alot to answer for.
Skateboarding in newcastle seems like its going to suck for a little while longer, the whole skatepark situation doesnt seem to be moving much and urban development in newcastle, well, were is it? there building a few buildings at honey suckle? wow...
Lets just hope once they complete the extension at charlestown square (lake mac) that they dont cap the shit out of all the rad hubba's and ledges that appear to be being built. Because there doesnt appear to be anything descent getting built for a while after charlestown...
