Baker 2g was my first proper skate movie even though I got it way after it came out. Then after getting into filming i always thought that baker 2g and baker 3 was filmed and made by the same people, until i started hearing about beagle stealing Jay strictlands style which is 100% true. It kinda sucks to hear about how he got ripped off with this whole thing because it brings to light how commercialized the industry really is, even with a company that has a marketing image of being raw and not giving a fuck
baker is tight, stop snitchin stop lyin. whats the first thing you think about when you think about all the orignal baker videos?
how did he create the image?
i mean id idnt read it but its pretty well known fact that baker guys are just drug guys, every one know sguys liek that. they just stop skating caus eno one pays them haha
He created the whole baker deal, the art, the video's, what the company's about, he built it. I think he has every right to be sour, if you got robbed outta heaps of cash you would be the same. Bootleg was a sick company too, and if you read it say's hes own creation Baker ruined it in the end. Sucks.
I been trying to tell people about this forever.
For those who dont get it, or dont wana read it. J.Strickland started the company, did all the logos and designs and that whole in your face raw dont give a fuck style. Reynolds and him were good friends and wanted to start there own company run by skaters not dudes wanting to make money from skateing, then when the company got picked up properly reynolds claimed everything and wouldnt get strickland involved in it even though strickland WAS baker.
Pretty fucked up.
Should have read the whole thread before posting, peoples pretty much said what I just said.
yeh but the idiot should have got a contract or a writtin agreement for 50 % of the company. He has no leg to stand on, you can't trust anyone once a bit of money comes around.
i heard that when they started baker they signed a 10 or 15 year contract with blitz locking them in pretty tight and taking a big chunk of the profits off reynolds n crew.
they must be stoked on that deal.
for what its worth.
Baker would be nothing without reynolds.
I mean think back what 3-4 years?
when every kid was cop'n some black tight jeans,
a button shirt. and immitating the boss.
The fact that he is so influential(sp?)
is what made baker, also the fact that they them selves are raw as fuck. they do drugs, and dont give a fuck about much. (or so they want us to think)
Strickland, really should of signed a contract, never trust anybody, even if they are your friend.
Specially in such a cut throat industy
I do feel for him though, and for the record Andrew reynolds in real life is a fucking piece, i watched him tell a little kid, that was looking like a clone of him (obviously idolised the boss) tell him to fuck off, when he asked for a photo.
drew laughed it off, with the team, and continued to suck down on a cigi.
I tried to initiate a convo, he just said "yer, cool" or id ask him, a question like "how do you like australia?" he would just be "meh". then skate to the other side ot the course, and the crowd would cheer.
I love him, and his parts,
but in real life the guys a piece
strickland can suck my balls, reynolds is the best and even thou this dudes claiming the props reynolds is what most people associate with baker for his skating, he is baker
well if you bothered to read this thread properly, you should now know that strickland is baker (well, was) not reynolds.
